As music therapists, we are trained medical professionals and observe strict sanitation guidelines for infection control. This includes thoroughly sanitizing every instrument used or touched between sessions with hospital-grade disinfectant wipes, washing hands when entering and exiting a new unit, and sanitizing hands when entering and exiting each patient’s room or care area. 

We observe all facility protocols for increased protection against infection during times of heightened risk, as well as for patients under more stringent precautions, including increased distancing between the therapist and patient and wearing personal protective equipment.
